Your data
Privacy policy
How the Bean Pounder mobile app handles local data, device permissions, and external links.
No account
You can use the app without providing a name, email address, or login.
No app-data uploads
Beans, profiles, brew history, traces, and photos are not uploaded to a Bean Pounder server.
No tracking
The app does not use advertising identifiers, advertising SDKs, or analytics SDKs.
No sale of data
Bean Pounder does not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
- Coffee beans, recipes, brew history, notes, telemetry traces, and profile drafts.
- Optional coffee-bag photos that you add from the camera or photo library.
- App preferences, paired-device details, and controller configuration.
- A randomly generated installation identifier used during the local Bluetooth handshake.
Brew profiles, machine settings, and related configuration may also be stored on the Bean Pounder MCU. Live controller and scale telemetry is exchanged directly over Bluetooth and may be saved into a local brew record when you choose to keep it.
Apple or Google device backups may include local app data according to your operating-system and backup settings. Those backups are controlled by the platform provider and your account settings, not by Bean Pounder.
| Permission | How it is used |
|---|---|
| Bluetooth | Finds and connects to the Bean Pounder MCU and supported scales, sends profiles and commands, and receives live telemetry. |
| Camera | Lets you photograph a coffee bag when you choose the camera option in the bean library. |
| Photos | Lets you select an existing coffee-bag image and, where offered, save an image at your request. |
| Files and sharing | Lets you save or share a file only when you explicitly choose an available export or share action. |
The app does not request access to your contacts or microphone. On Android, Bluetooth scanning is declared as not being used to derive your physical location.
The app can open Bean Pounder guides, firmware resources, this privacy policy, and the Bean Pounder Discord when you tap those links. External sites open in your browser and may receive standard connection information, such as your IP address and browser details, under their own privacy practices.
Visiting BeanPounder.com may cause its hosting and security providers to process standard request logs needed to deliver and protect the site. Bean Pounder does not use the mobile app to combine those website requests with your local app data.
Local records remain until you delete them in the app, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Coffee, recipe, profile, and ledger screens provide controls for deleting the records they manage.
Uninstalling the app does not automatically erase profiles or settings already stored on a Bean Pounder MCU. You can overwrite or remove controller data through the app while connected, or reset the controller using the applicable product guide.
Copies retained in an Apple or Google device backup remain subject to your backup retention settings. Because Bean Pounder does not maintain an app-data account or server database, there is no separate Bean Pounder cloud record to request or delete.
Local app data is protected by the security controls of your device. Bluetooth communication is limited to nearby compatible devices, but no storage or wireless system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Bean Pounder is a specialty espresso-control product and is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy if the app's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version. Store privacy disclosures will be updated when required.
